Our history
Estate La Veneranda
For over four centuries, our family holds a deep bond with these lands. Ancient roots, passion and dedication have given life to a farm that, even today, proudly carries forward the winemaking tradition of Montefalco with extremely pleasant wines and an absolutely distinctive Sagrantino.
A family, a land, a vision
A story of passions
The year was 1568 when the Moncelli appeared for the first time in the documents of the "Historical Archive of the Municipality of Montefalco" Since then, our family has intertwined its destiny with that of these hills, cultivating the land with respect and dedication.
In 1827, Maria Aloisa Moncelli became the heir of the property and left an indelible mark on our history.
Figure of great culture and wisdom, she deserved the moniker of “La Veneranda” for her foresight in agricultural management.
It was she who passed on the passion for viticulture to the following generations., imprinting a style that still characterizes our company today.
Currently La Veneranda is managed by Eleonora Alessandrelli and Anna Rita Scarca, supported by their families in a shared commitment to the enhancement of Montefalco wines and the meticulous care of the territory, preserving its authenticity and beauty for the future.
We fully follow the wine supply chain: from cultivation to sale, including harvesting, winemaking, and bottling.
